Abby brings me joy!
Abby was my target practicing today...it's been a long day, but while Madison was napping, Abby and I had some fun! I love her smiles and the joy she finds in the little things...like her thumb! Yes, she has found it and started sucking it a few days ago. She has to look at her hand to locate her thumb and then she sticks it in and sucks away. We took away her binky at 6 months to avoid the catastrophes of getting rid of it and now this. I might as well throw in the towel...I think a thumb is going to be worse than the binky ever was:-( Any suggestions? I am open!

Elizabeth...Madison's good friend
I got to practice on Elizabeth and we did a shoot in Hanover. It was so much fun. Madison and Elizabeth are like two peas in a pod. They think alike and play so well together. They love to be around each other and get so excited to play together. They do dress up, pretend to go to the doctors, and just love to laugh and run around. We are so grateful to have Elizabeth live so close.
Abby Says 'no'
Abby always answers 'no' to questions. We decided to get it on video!!!! She is so funny! She got a bit distracted near the end. She can only do one thing at a time.

Dinner Table Conversation
M: Let's go on a daddy daughter date (said excitedly)
B: What should we do when we go?
M: Get a hamburger and a frosty!
B: Maybe we could get some pizza at Ramunto's
M: Yeah, that's a plan that sounds like a good one.
B: What do you think about it?
M: It sounds beautiful!
The other day:
I'm driving the car and come to a bridge. I say, "Hold your breath." I hear Madison in the back seat breathing really heavily. Once we cross the bridge I look back and realize she is holding her chest. I say, "You didn't hold your breath." Madison responds, "I don't know what my breath is." I then realize she thought at first I said breast and she was holding her breasts. She is so funny!
Madison's request:
Brian was playing a hymn on the piano and Madison asked Brian, "play a fast song daddy." Brian continued to play the hymn when he was interrupted. Madison had come to the piano, grabbed his arms and said, "Did you hear me daddy? I wanted a fast song." Brian said, "Ok, I will play the song faster." Once he finished that song he went on to play one of Brad's songs that is slower and Madison said, "Play that one faster ok Daddy?"
Madison is such a character and keeps us laughing. Abby on the other hand says 'no' to every and any question we ask her. We were driving in the car the other day and I asked Brian a question and from the back seat we hear, "no". Madison loves it and constantly is asking Abby questions to which she always answers, "no."
She learned to say 'bye'. She doesn't always use it the right way, but she will repeat it if we say it. Oh, the joys of motherhood! I just love it!
Brian is upstairs putting Madison to bed. Today I came home from working out to find peanut butter, cornmeal, barley, string, and scissors, and a mess on the table. I asked Brian what it was out for and he said, "Oh, we made a bird feeder and hung it in the tree. I said, "you didn't have any bird seed to put on it." To which he replied, "I looked it up on the Internet and it said you could use any seeds or cornmeal." I was so elated. Madison then showed me where they hung it on a tree limb. What a great husband and dad. We were bird watching one day for a long time and I mentioned we should make a bird feeder. Then my wonderful husband made one with Madison. It was the highlight of my day. I should take a picture. We don't have big enough pine cones, so they used a toilet paper roll.

Warm enough to play outside!!!!
It's finally warm enough to play outside for long periods of time!!!! Yahhh!
Abby couldn't keep rocks out of her mouth. I would pull one out only to have another popped it closely behind the last. She loved it though. She was entertained by the rocks for a long time!!! She wouldn't even look at me:-)
Girl or Boy?
Today while in Wal-Mart, a woman came up and asked if Abby was a girl or a boy. this is what she was wearing...She had on pink pants and pink shoes...I was floored to say the least. I try so hard to make them look like girls! Many think she is a boy because she has such short hair, but no one could see her hair under her pink striped beanie!!! Just had to take a picture:-)

Christmas Story, but not a flag pole:-)
Abby's Almost One Year Photos!
We went into Hanover today to get some pictures...it was quite a scene. This is about how it went.
Grab Abby
Put her down
Scoot back to take a picture
Abby crawls toward me
Dirty knees on pants
Pick her up and move her back
Check and see where Madison is
Madison moves into the picture right as Abby smiles
"Madison move"
Won't move
Take picture anyway
Move Abby again
White Balance
Move back
Abby crawls
Abby looks at cars and not me
Cars come and we stop
Abby almost falls flat on face
Move her
Bump into Madison who falls and starts to cry
Comfort Madison
Check where Abby is
Madison still crying
Calm Madison
Take more pictures
Check where Madison is...
You get the picture. This is as good as we could get. I was just praying the entire time that a few would be cute. It was a success considering how funny and out of sorts we must have looked like;-) Got to love being a mom!!!!!

Out of the mouths of...Madison
"I want to make blue cookies. You think about it. (She began to walk away and then turned around and said) You are so funny mom."
Madison: "I like having a baby.
Elizabeth (her friend) is having a baby brother."
Me: "Do you want a baby brother some day?"
Madison: "Nooo. I just want Abby."
"I need to go to the bathroom. I will do a lot of pee and then I can have a lot of treats. (She began to get down from the breakfast table and said) Don't eat my food. You have your food to eat ok? I be back and I wipe myself, so bye."
Daddy asked, "What is that?" (He pointed to a snow blower)
Madison said, "It's a blow snower."
She also says "got for" for forgot:-)

Paint and Laugh!
I'm glad this blog is private since Madison is in underpants. She was making Abby laugh and I couldn't help but get it on video. She kept dropping the paint brush and that had Abby in stitches. These are the happy mother moments.
She talks!!!!
We finally captured her talking! Isn't she adorable...I just love how she mimics "I love you."
Motherhood Joys!

I love holding Abby while she eats. She holds her stuffed animal and is so calm and pleasant. It's the only time she sits still :-)
She loves baby dolls...I tried to capture the moment.
Madison loves to wear these glasses. She always says, "look at me."
Both girls slept in until 7:15...I thought I died and went to heaven...or they did:-) I woke up to Madison singing to Abby and talking to her in her bed. It's the best thing for me. I couldn't help getting the camera and capturing it!
Crazy Haired Madison!

Flashback! Madison at 11 months:-)
I guess Abby and Madison do look a lot alike. I remember Madison being so big when she was almost one, but I feel Abby is still a baby. She has grown up so fast on me. We kept waiting for Madison to sit up, crawl, walk, talk, etc. and Abby just does it one day and I can't believe it. I feel like she is so advanced and then I realize Madison was about the same age when she did that too. What a joy it is to have such beautiful girls in our life.
Biker Babe at work!
Today was the first warm day for bike riding all winter. We still have lots of snow, but it's melting fast. Madison has been so excited to wear her new (used) helmet and go biking. Abby enjoyed riding in the stroller for the first half and then pushing her toy the second half. Here is a picture of Madison pushing a toy like Abby's when she was 11 months old.

I love it!!!!
Madison said this morning, "We didn't read about Jesus." Meaning we didn't read the Book of Mormon this morning.
While in the car yesterday we were driving by Wendy's and Madison said, "Can we go to that ice cream place?"
I said, "You mean Wendy's?"
Madison: "Yah."
Me: "Not today Princess."
Madison: "Maybe on a daddy daughter date?"
Me: "Yes Madison, you can go on a daddy daughter date."
Me: "Do you love daddy?"
Madison: "No, you love daddy and I love Abby. I'm a big sister."
Last night we were doing Family Home Evening and Madison asked, "Does Jesus like Animals?"
Me: "Yes, he loves animals."
Madison: "Me too."
Madison: "We need to clean this car, it's messy."

Dress up, Mardi Gras, finding baby!
Madison saw me put the baby in the mardi gras king cake and wanted it out before I even cooked it. We found it and gave her the piece with the baby in it and I got my camera ready. She ate and ended up chewing on the baby. She was so excited to have found it...I am so sad that all the pictures didn't download and I erased them off my camera.
Abby loves to wear necklaces and furry things! Isn't she so cute. She copies everything Madison does. She put this on herself.
