Apples to Apples

I got this off my friends blog. She got it in an e-mail. If you need to smile today then read this.

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

'Take only ONE ..God is watching.'

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'

Summer in November

Monday morning Madison woke up and put on her swimsuit. I then turn around and Abby has her swim diaper on over her regular diaper and her swimsuit on the wrong way. Madison then begged me to set up the swimming pool in the sun so that it will be warm for them to go swimming. Just 20 minutes earlier Madison was commenting on the snow on the ground...it was freezing outside. I told her that it was too cold and that maybe she could go in the bathtub. But then I remembered I had to take some of the photography equipment back to where I rented it that morning so I told Madison to go and put her clothes back on. She came out with a pair of pink leggings on over her swimsuit and her swimming shirt over her swimsuit also...don't forget the underpants over her swimsuit under her pants:-) I looked at her and she said, "does this look hideous?" To which I chuckled and said, "yes." Madison then said, "Well, then could you do my hair?" She was talking about her hair all along, not the outfit. That just made me laugh. Gotta love kids! I wish I took a picture of her other outfit I thought was hideous. Yes, I did let her go to the store that way...I just dressed Abby really cute hoping that they would know my three year old dressed herself and that I'm not a neglectful mom:-)

Getting old fast...I mean real fast!

Have you ever seen the Curious Case of Benjamin Button? If you haven't, don't waste your time, but the character is born old and then becomes younger...all the way to being a baby again. Anyway, seeing my girls in these glasses reminded me of that movie. They have bi-focals!!! These are my dad's glasses that the girls wanted to try on while at Grandpa's house this weekend. Aren't they so adorable! While visiting my parents, my mom asked Madison what her favorite part of the day was. She replied, "My daddy daughter date today." My mom asked where they went and she said, "We went to MacDonald's and got a hamburger." Brian is such a good dad. He took her to lunch before he had to go again for Residency interviews.

I did this...

CL (that is what we call my dad...it's his first two initials) invited me to start playing raquetball with a few of his friends. So, I have started going and really love it. Well, we were playing doubles last Wed. and I hit the ball really hard! My dad had just turned around and got it in the eye. His glasses dug into his face and then went flying. There were two bumps at the time of contact and they turned into this! I feel awful. No one wants to play me anymore:-( In my defense, I have no control over the ball and therefore cannot be to blame:-) I am not that good yet.

Happy Halloween!

We had a huge Halloween family party on Sunday and Brian and I and the girls dressed up. Brian was a rodeo clown, I was a cowgirl, Abby was a horse (she had to go to bed early because she was so scared of all the costumes...to the point of shaking!), and Madison was a cowgirl on a horse. We went with the rodeo theme! It was so much fun. Tamara dresses up every year and she was a pretty darn good witch if you ask me!

Brian carved 4 pumpkins with the girls in under an hour! He was so fast and Madison had a blast getting her hands dirty!
