Madison had her friends over for cake and ice cream in the backyard. It was fun and Madison kept saying "birthday" all day long. She woke up that morning asking for cake and ice cream for breakfast. We had been telling her about her birthday all week and that we would have cake and ice cream and that her friends would be coming over. She would get so excited. That morning when she asked for cake I had to tell her that it wasn't made yet. She was begging me so I showed her the box with the cake mix in it. Her eyes lit up and she said, "cake, yummmm. Open it." I opened it for her and she was a bit disappointed that it was only a bag. We made cupcakes and cake and she had three of them throughout the day.
